Students Work on Urban Renewal of the Ligurian Coast
Students of Domus Academy’s Master in Urban Vision & Architectural Design program had the great opportunity to work on an urban renewal project in collaboration with the Municipality of Bogliasco, beginning from a desire to restore value to the architecture of the Ligurian coast.
Bogliasco is a small town located a few kilometers from Genoa, in the direction of the Ligurian Riviera di Levante. Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and protected by a natural inlet, this small village is characterized by typical Ligurian houses, with colored façades that reach the beach and are flanked by new concrete infrastructures.
This classically beautiful Italian location was the setting for the program’s Urban & Landscape workshop. Students worked on a concrete infrastructure redevelopment project using Settef outdoor paints, allowing the colors to harmonize with the surrounding historical buildings. Settef, a brand of the Cromology Group, was a partner of the workshop.
Due to this pandemic, Luliang Chen chose the photographer as the user of his project. Photographers need to frequently work outdoor, therefore functions and lifestyles need to change accordingly.
