Master's in Product Design
Year of Graduation: 2022
Current role: Managing Partner at Majzoub Engineering and Contracting
Country: Lebanon
Rami began his journey in 2015 within the structured world of mechanical engineering. For six years, he immersed himself in the practical domain of electromechanical contracting in Beirut, Lebanon, translating theoretical concepts into tangible realities. However, a growing desire for creative exploration soon emerged. The rigid lines of established systems no longer fully satisfied his intellectual curiosity, leading him to Milan, the design capital, for a transformative experience pursuing a Master’s degree in Product Design at Domus Academy.
In Milan, he discovered the power of aesthetics, the importance of user experience, and the boundless potential of design to shape human interactions with the world. His background in mechanical engineering, now interwoven with a designer’s sensibility, began to manifest in unique ways. He became increasingly drawn to the intricate mechanics of robotics, the futuristic allure of space exploration, and the elegant simplicity of scientific theories.

Striving to bridge the gap between abstract scientific concepts and tangible design, Rami works to translate complex ideas into accessible and engaging products. Whether crafting a lamp inspired by the principles of quantum entanglement or designing a robotic arm that mimics the movements of celestial bodies, each project reflects a deep fascination with the intersection of science, technology, and design. His journey from the construction site to the design studio represents a continuous process of learning and growth, shaped by a commitment to curiosity and openness to unexpected paths. This philosophy takes form in the Louver collection, his first foray into product design, where vision and technical precision meet within a constantly evolving creative landscape.
“My time at Domus Academy was a transformative immersion into the world of product design, it was a deep dive into understanding cultural contexts and innovative methodologies. My experience was pivotal, providing me with the perfect perception to navigate through design complexities and ultimately shaping my career.Â
My design approach revolves around manipulating light and matter, using form to orchestrate reflections and shadows, all while drawing inspiration from scientific theories.”
