Monica is an innovative U.S.A.-Peruvian designer with over a decade of experience in UX/UI design, visual communication, and interactive systems. Her career began in New York City after earning a B.F.A. in Graphic Design. Her passion for solving complex design challenges led her to specialize in UX/UI, completing a Master’s in Interaction Design with Distinction at Domus Academy in Milan.
Currently, Monica serves as a UX Lead at Google, within the Platform & Devices division, where she plays a strategic role in shaping the global customer experience for Google Store and Google Fi Wireless. Her work focuses on delivering user-centered design solutions across e-commerce and app platforms, supporting new product launches, data-driven redesigns for business growth, and enhanced accessibility standards.

She collaborates closely with cross-functional partners in Product Management, Engineering, UX, and Marketing to create seamless and intuitive user journeys that align with brand and business goals.
Before stepping into her current leadership role, Monica served as an Interactive Manager at Google, supporting the Devices & Services division, specifically across gStore E-commerce & Retail and Fitbit.com. In this capacity, she led the creation of scalable modules and new pages for global product launches, optimized existing design components through data analysis, and established robust UX documentation for CMS and retail systems. Working closely with development, QA, and other cross-functional teams, she ensured high-quality execution while actively mentoring junior designers and fostering a collaborative design culture.
Prior to joining Google, Monica worked at Fitbit (prior to its integration with Google in 2021), where she held roles including Senior Interactive Designer and later Senior Designer, Interactive Lead. During this period, she led the comprehensive redesign of Fitbit.com, launching the new experience in the U.S. and Canada and coordinating its international rollout. She collaborated with development, product, and localization teams to deliver high-quality digital solutions, while also mentoring her peers in CMS systems and interaction design. Her work significantly contributed to enhancing Fitbit’s global digital presence and user engagement.
