After completing her bachelor’s degree in İstanbul, Ebru relocated to Milan to pursue a Master in Visual Brand Design at Domus Academy in 2013, an important chapter in shaping her design philosophy and professional trajectory.
The programme’s interdisciplinary, research-driven, and collaborative approach broadened her perspective on design’s role in addressing complex social and technological challenges. It also equipped her with the tools to approach problem-solving through a holistic, human-centered lens, integrating creativity with strategic foresight.
Her experience at Domus Academy allowed her to build lasting connections within an international community of designers and innovators, relationships that continue to enrich her work and perspective to this day.
Since then, Ebru has worked across a range of sectors with international startups, consultancies, and leading institutions, including Condé Nast, IBM iX, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In parallel, Ebru has established herself as a dedicated lecturer and mentor, sharing her expertise at Domus Academy and other prestigious universities.
At the last position she held as a mentor only, she has worked closely with over 90 aspiring designers, many of whom now hold positions at well-known international companies such as Volkswagen, TUI, and DEPT.
Through her teaching, she fosters inclusive, creative learning spaces that empower individuals and nurture curiosity. Her relationship with Domus Academy remains an essential source of professional and personal inspiration. Actively involved in its alumni network, she continues to contribute to the school’s vibrant and international design ecosystem, promoting dialogue, innovation, and a shared vision for the future of the discipline.
“Domus Academy, with its excellent teaching methods and immersive, collaborative environment, inspired me to become an educator myself. The experience not only shaped the way I approach design but also taught me the value of fostering curiosity, dialogue, and empathy in creative practice. Being in Milan, surrounded by design, culture, and constant inspiration, challenged and motivated me to become the designer I want to be. I am especially grateful to Stefano Cardini and Sara Desimoni, whose guidance and mentorship played a crucial role in my academic and professional development. Their passion for teaching, their intellectual generosity, and their ability to push students beyond conventional boundaries left a lasting impression on me and continue to influence the way I mentor and teach today.”
