Beyza’s educational journey began in Turkey, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design. She then moved to Milan to pursue a Master in Product Design at Domus Academy, an important step in her development as a designer. There, in collaboration with Electrolux, she completed her Master’s thesis on user interaction with domestic appliances, laying the groundwork for her expertise in the evolving relationship between people and smart technologies.
Her early professional experience took her to the heart of Silicon Valley, where she joined Studio Backs, a San Francisco based design consultancy, and worked on projects for leading global clients like Samsung, Incase, and Mirasol.
Returning to Turkey in 2012, Beyza joined Silverline Appliances as Product & Interaction Design Lead. There, she was tasked with establishing and growing the design department from scratch. Under her leadership, the company’s product portfolio underwent a strategic transformation, guided by a clear design language, deep user research, and forward-thinking market insights. Her work not only elevated the company’s design maturity but also helped Silverline expand its reach to over 70 countries. During this time, she received numerous international honors including the Red Dot Design Award, iF Design Award, German Design Award, UX Design Award, Design Turkey Good Design Award, and Plus X Award recognizing her ability to blend aesthetics with usability and business strategy.
At Miele, she continues to push boundaries in built-in appliance design. One of her notable achievements is the Black Levantar downdraft hood praised for its elegant minimalist appearance, smart functionality, and seamless integration into contemporary kitchens. The product reflects Beyza’s belief in discreet innovation: solutions that simplify the user’s life without demanding their attention, and that harmonize with both technology and architecture.
Beyond her professional practice, Beyza pursued academic depth through a PhD in Design in Istanbul, where her research focused on the cognitive gap in user-product interaction throughout technological evolution. She also earned a Professional Diploma in UX Design, expanding her expertise in usability, information architecture, interaction flows, and data-informed decision making.
“At Domus Academy, being immersed in a diverse community of creatives from around the world pushed my design perspective beyond cultural boundaries.”
