Massimiliano is an urban designer and, as he defines himself, “an observer of cities and people”.
His design is based on people and their interaction with space. Recently, Massimiliano founded Persone, an urban design studio that aims to apply the human scale as a common denominator to the different project sizes and typologies. In 1999, he started working in the architecture industry in a small studio in Novi Ligure, his hometown. Later in 2008, he graduated in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Genoa, Italy. He attended Domus Academy earning his Master’s in Urban Vision & Architectural Design in 2010. After his training at Domus Academy, he moved to Hong Kong starting a new chapter in his life and career. In 2018, he became the chief designer of the master planning team at the Lead8 office in Hong Kong, focusing on master plans and urban design projects for Southeast Asia markets.
“Studying at Domus Academy changed my way of thinking and approach design. Even now, after 10 years, I am still «digesting» and developing the knowledge which I have received from Gianandrea Barreca, at the time Director of the Master”
