Master in Fashion Management

The Course
The Master in Fashion Management combines the study of fashion with an in-depth examination of its management side.
You will learn how to respond to changing consumer trends, generate brand awareness of a fashion line, and manage a fashion collection from conception through production and distribution. You will work on projects related to product development, merchandising, advertising, and fashion buying.
Who Should Apply
This program is addressed to candidates who have a first-level degree and/or professional experience in fashion and accessory design, arts, humanities, economics, or business.
The program is also open to candidates with a background in other disciplines, if they are motivated by a strong interest in fashion management.

Explore the Program


The Master in Fashion Management program is workshop-based, supported by seminars, lectures, tutorials, and fieldwork. Industry professionals, the program leader, and project leaders will guide you via individual coaching and mentorship.
The program consists of four customizable course/workshop modules, followed by a professional experience period and a final portfolio presentation.
Courses
Coursework focuses on examining the history of fashion design, learning management and marketing strategies for fashion and luxury goods companies, exploring factors that determine the economic performance of a company, branding your own work, and developing your professional identity.
Workshops
Guided by industry professionals and faculty project leaders, you will work with leading companies on practical projects related to fashion management, such as creating a proposal for an advertising campaign or helping to develop an innovative, consistent fashion collection from research to realization.
Professional Experience
To gain real experience working in your field, you will choose from an internship at a company site, a work project on campus in collaboration with a company, or an entrepreneurship module. In each case, you will benefit from mentorship, an inside perspective on your field, and valuable career connections.

Meet your faculty

Your Program Leader
Kiran Vajpey
After earning a BA in Fashion Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in India, Kiran Vajpey gained a Master in Fashion Business Management at Istituto Marangoni in Milano.
Her primary area of expertise is in Fashion Buying. She has worked for years in the field, first as a buyer and merchandiser for Villa Moda International in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar & Dubai; buying brands such as Dolce&Gabbana, Valentino, Prada and YSL and then as a buyer for The Collective, in India, to support their growth & expansion across the country. Kiran also had her own consulting firm that bridged Indian manufacturers and Italian fashion brands.
In 2014, she started lecturing at several institutions for fashion graduate programs.
Kiran Vajpey joined Domus Academy in 2017 as Program Leader of the Master in Fashion Management.

Fees and Scholarships
Each one-year Academic Master’s program (60 ECTS) at Domus Academy involves the following costs, in addition to a € 520 diploma fee, which must be paid at least one week before the course start date. The Academic Master’s diploma is recognized by MIUR and awarded by NABA.

Pop the Pop Up
Maison Margiela is a French fashion house that was founded in Paris in 1988 by Martin Margiela, a Belgian designer who was known to find beauty in the seemingly ordinary. For this competition, you are asked to present original recommendations for MM6, Maison Margiela’s contemporary line, for the company’s pop-up store strategy.
