Ryosuke Fukusada, born in Osaka, Japan in 1979, has devoted his career to design and cultural exchange. After earning his degree in Japan in 2002, he began working at Sharp Corporation, where he developed innovative consumer electronics. Driven by a desire for broader horizons, he moved to Italy in 2007 to pursue a Master’s in Interior & Living Design at Domus Academy.
There during the internship at studio Patricia Urquiola, Fukusada refined his skills and collaborated with top Italian manufacturers on projects spanning furniture, lighting, and kitchenware. This formative period deeply influenced his approach, merging traditional Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary European aesthetics.

In 2012, he returned to Japan and established FUKUSADA STUDIO in Kyoto. Since then, he has partnered with a wide range of clients, including Japanese brands such as Ceramic Japan, KOTOBUKI SEATING, Lemnos, and Masterwal; Italian companies like Axolight, Bonaldo, and FIAM Italia; and Danish labels including HAY and Please Wait to be Seated. His extensive portfolio features furniture, home goods, and interior accessories, many of which have received international acclaim through honors like the Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Award and the iF Design Award.
