Aysegül Dönmez earned her Bachelor’s in Visual Communication Design at Istanbul Bilgi University in Turkey, her native country. She interned as a fashion photographer at Fabrika Photography during her studies, preparing sets and organizing shoots for senior photographers. She also worked part-time as a visual communication designer for Lemonade Refreshing Ideas, creating design solutions for corporate identity and user experience projects. She continued working there for a year after her graduation in 2012.
In 2013, Aysegül moved to Milan to begin her Master in Business Design at Domus Academy. During her course, she interned with FutureBrand Milan, which works with companies across the globe on branding, product design, and user experience projects.
After graduating with the highest honors, Aysegül became Strategist at FutureBrand for almost 4 years where she develops creative strategy recommendations for clients, including trend and insight analysis, brand/portfolio architecture, and brand positioning. Now she is Global Marketing Identity & Equity Managr at Barilla Group where she’s in charge of Barilla Brand’s visual identity as well as developing the brand architecture and necessary guidelines for the brand’s visual language.
“I came to Domus Academy as an experienced visual communication designer with many questions and doubts about the marketing and business realities of brands. I came out as a strategic thinker and business-involved designer able to question, understand, and reshape and build brands with fresh perspectives.”
“Creating a brand’s feeling starts with a clear meaning.”
