As part of a six-week workshop in collaboration with SKIN Magazine, students from the Master in Fashion Styling & Visual Merchandising at Domus Academy – Dana Saad, Julija Umek, and Ekin Ulusoy – were challenged to develop a cohesive and innovative branded content project, by delving into the brand’s DNA and its core values of creativity, disruption, and innovation.
The standout outcome of the workshop was Subsumed, a surrealist exploration of presence, identity, and integration. In a world where individuals are constantly pressured to stand out, this project tells the story of a woman who chooses instead to blend into her surroundings, embracing subtlety over spectacle.

Set in a retro, maximalist hotel – filled with saturated tones, clashing patterns, and nostalgic details – the location becomes a character in its own right. The woman’s styling reflects and merges with the environment, creating visual harmony through pattern coordination and colour balance.
Her presence is quiet yet powerful: composed, grounded, and meant to be discovered rather than overtly highlighted. Through serene body language and intentional styling, she represents a new kind of visibility – one defined by a sense of belonging rather than contrast.
Subsumed reimagines the concept of presence as integration, offering a poetic counter-narrative to the spectacle-driven pace of contemporary life.
