Crafting Inclusive Futures was developed by Master in Business Design and Master in Visual Brand Design students at Domus Academy as part of the New Product Strategies workshop in collaboration with Fondazione TOG.
The project reimagines the TOG FabLab, a digital fabrication space within TOG’s Milan center, which offers free, specialised care for children with neurological conditions. Created to meet the unique needs of these children, the FabLab designs custom assistive devices using advanced digital tools. It embodies how design and technology can deliver innovative, life-enhancing solutions for real-world challenges.

In response to the brief, which called for a sustainable model and renewed identity for the FabLab, students Catherine Cable, Sarah Abdel Jalil, Tina Jain, Özdoğan Şevval and Sanjoli Gupta envisioned Crafting Inclusive Futures, an educational program that promotes inclusion and disability awareness among young students and their families. The initiative is grounded in three key pillars: Education, Disability Awareness, and Families.
The program features hands-on workshops where students learn to design and build assistive technologies, helping them understand inclusion not as an extra step, but as a natural part of life. To reflect this vision, the TOG FabLab is rebranded with a new identity rooted in warmth, creativity, and inclusivity—while staying true to the foundation’s values.
The proposal includes a one-month pilot program in primary schools across Milan. Students will participate in activities both in the classroom and at the TOG FabLab, collaborating with TOG professionals to bring their ideas to life. Final projects will be showcased in public spaces, amplifying TOG’s mission and raising awareness about disabilities.
As the program scales, it aims to involve more schools and communities, building a broader movement based on empathy, innovation, and accessibility. By combining strategic thinking with creative design, Crafting Inclusive Futures aspires to turn the TOG FabLab into a hub for cultural transformation—one where disabilities are not limitations, but opportunities for inclusive innovation.
