Caffettino
Concept
As part of the Advanced Design and Processes workshop in collaboration with Ichendorf, students of the Master in Product Design – Ebru Ayan, Rana Çöllü, Lorenzo Nevi and Kumsal Şenel – developed Caffettino, a refined glass set that elegantly brings together the Turkish and Italian coffee traditions.
The project explores the rich coffee cultures of Turkey and Italy, transforming the act of drinking coffee into a shared ritual. By combining the distinctive customs of both countries, Caffettino creates an elevated experience that celebrates coffee not simply as a beverage, but as a meaningful moment of connection, hospitality and care.

The set consists of four elements: a coffee cup, a coffee saucer, a water cup and a sweet saucer. Conceived as a compact, cohesive ensemble, it is designed to accompany every stage of the coffee ritual by serving coffee, water and sweets together in a single, harmonious composition.
A key feature of the design is its ability to keep the coffee warm for longer. This is achieved by using either the water cup as a glass bell or the sweet saucer as a lid for the coffee cup.
The water cup can also be positioned on the saucer, making the set suitable for serving other hot beverages such as tea, cappuccino or americano.
Carefully engineered for both functionality and aesthetics, the set incorporates a spherical element on the saucer and a sweet saucer that fits precisely into the base of both cups, ensuring stability while in use. The pieces are also designed to stack neatly together, creating a compact object that is easy to store without separating the individual components into different kitchen drawers.
More than a functional tableware set, Caffettino is an invitation to slow down and enjoy a thoughtful ritual. It celebrates hospitality, shared moments and everyday gestures of care through a timeless design that combines elegance, versatility and practicality, making it an ideal object both for daily use and as a meaningful gift.
