The Course

The Master in Visual Brand Design aims to form effective, dynamic, and versatile visual brand designers and brand managers who are open to visionary innovations.
You will learn to identify a company’s core philosophy, cultivate a deep understanding of its products and services, and design innovative ways to communicate the company’s brand values and story to its customers through physical, digital, and social media.
Who Should Apply
The program is addressed to candidates who have a first-level degree and/or professional experience in visual and graphic design, product design, or communication.
It is also open to candidates who hold a degree/diploma in marketing or the humanities, if they are motivated by interest in visual brand design and a strong portfolio.

Explore the Program


The Master in Visual Brand Design program is workshop-based, supported by seminars, lectures, tutorials, and fieldwork. Industry professionals, the program leader, and project leaders will guide you via individual coaching and mentorship.
The program consists of four customizable course/workshop modules, followed by a professional experience period and a final portfolio presentation.
Courses
Coursework focuses on gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of visual design tools and techniques, learning to identify a company’s core philosophy, and designing innovative ways to communicate the company’s brand values, story, and tone.
Workshops
Guided by industry professionals and faculty project leaders, you will work with leading companies on practical projects such as helping to develop the global brand identity of a company or product line using narrative design tools such as storytelling, storyboards, and video.
Professional Experience
To gain real experience working in your field, you will choose from an internship at a company site, a work project on campus in collaboration with a company, or an entrepreneurship module. In each case, you will benefit from mentorship, an inside perspective on your field, and valuable career connections.

Meet your faculty

Your Program Leader
Elisa Chiodo
Elisa Chiodo received her Ph.D. in Communication Design cum laude in 2013 from the Politecnico’s School of Design. During her studies, she interned at Stockholm University’s MobileLife Research Centre and at Harvard’s metaLAB and presented her research findings at conferences.
Elisa works as a freelance consultant specializing in the concept, development, and management of communication projects that offer strong and engaging brand experiences. For more than eight years, she collaborated with the Master in Communication Design course at the Politecnico di Milano. She joined the faculty of Domus Academy in 2016 as the program leader of the Master in Visual Brand Design.

Fees and Scholarships
Each one-year Academic Master’s program (60 ECTS) at Domus Academy involves the following costs, in addition to a € 540 diploma fee, which must be paid at least one week before the course start date. The Academic Master’s diploma is recognized by MIUR and awarded by NABA.
