Domus Academy Hosts Top Fashion Designers
On Wednesday, June 27, from 2:30 pm, Domus Academy will host International Creative in Milan, a talk about current issues in the fashion world. Featured speakers are Marcelo Burlon and Edward Buchanan, two of the most important fashion designers on the international scene.
Edward Buchanan is a trained fashion designer from Ohio, USA. In 1995 he moved to Italy to join Bottega Veneta as their ready-to-wear design director. Six years later, he started his own knitwear brand, Sansovino 6, while still collaborating with several fashion firms.
Born in Argentina, Marcelo Burlon moved to Italy with his family in the 90’s. In Milan, he worked with the industrial-style nightclub Magazzini Generali, first as a bouncer and later as a DJ and public relations team member. This is how he started collaborating with fashion brands such as Dolce & Gabbana and Alessandro Dell’Acqua. In 2012, he co-founded his eponymous brand Marcelo Burlon | County of Milan.
Marcelo and Edward, who are close friends, share a similar story, although they have very different perspectives on fashion, which they will share with students during the talk.
Due to this pandemic, Luliang Chen chose the photographer as the user of his project. Photographers need to frequently work outdoor, therefore functions and lifestyles need to change accordingly.
