THE MASTER IN PRODUCT DESIGN HAS BEEN A DEEP DIVE INTO THE INTERSECTION OF HERITAGE AND INNOVATION
Kuan Yung Chung, Taiwan, Master in Product Design
For Kuan Yung from Taiwan, the Master in Product Design at Domus Academy has been a deep dive into the intersection of heritage and innovation. Choosing Milan meant stepping into the heart of the design world, where every street corner and café offers a lesson in aesthetics.
Studying here went beyond mastering 3D rendering and industrial processes; it involved collaborating with global brands and peers from diverse backgrounds. Building friendships across cultures and engaging with different perspectives has reshaped his design thinking.
Living in Milan also encouraged him to embrace everyday life more fully. From cooking to traveling, these experiences became an essential part of his routine and subtly influenced his approach to design—leading to a deeper understanding that design is rooted in life itself.
The journey has been a continuous challenge to push creative boundaries. Interning at a Milanese studio and immersing in the city’s vibrant design culture have shaped a vision of design that is both functional and deeply human.
