This is one of the steps leading to a fashion show. Discover its characteristics and the way Domus Academy students are preparing for Fashion Graduate Italia 2026.
The event brings together students from the Master in Fashion Design, Master in Fashion Styling & Visual Merchandising, and 2-Year Master of Arts in Fashion: Design, Art & Technology.
Open to anyone curious about how a collection develops before its runway debut, the fitting offers a firsthand look at the creative process. For those considering a study path in fashion design, it is an invaluable opportunity to see students at work and explore what studying fashion involves.
A fitting is a key stage in preparing a fashion show. Garments are tried on professional models to test proportions, silhouettes and movement. Students assess how each piece sits on the body and identify adjustments to fit, construction and details.
Styling helps connect individual garments into a coherent collection. Students test combinations of clothing and accessories to communicate their creative vision.
The students will work with fashion stylist Ildo Damiano, professor and designer Antonio Di Domenico, Fashion Lab Specialist Ali Karami, and course leaders Gianfranco Olivotto and Margherita Mazza.
Crafted Voices will take place at BASE Milano on 27 October 2026 at 4:00 pm, as part of Fashion Graduate Italia.
The eight selected students draw on their personal stories and cultural backgrounds to create collections that connect individual experiences with a wider audience.

A fashion fitting is a session in which garments are tried on models to assess fit, proportions, silhouette and movement. Designers use it to identify adjustments and refine each look before a collection reaches the catwalk.
Creating a fashion collection starts with research and a creative concept. Designers develop sketches, select materials and explore shapes before making patterns and prototypes. Fittings help refine the garments, while styling brings the looks together to communicate a coherent vision.
The Open Fitting brings together students from three Domus Academy postgraduate programmes: the Master in Fashion Design, the Master in Fashion Styling & Visual Merchandising, and the 2-Year Master of Arts in Fashion: Design, Art & Technology. Together, they connect garment design, visual storytelling and experimentation across fashion, art and technology.
