new bachelor

With two new Bachelor’s programmes launching in 2027/28, Domus Academy is expanding its undergraduate offering across four increasingly interconnected fields: design, fashion, communication and business.

The boundaries between creative disciplines are becoming increasingly fluid. Design now spans products, spaces, services and digital experiences; fashion brings together creativity, technology and product development; communication continues to evolve through new languages and media; and design thinking is playing an increasingly strategic role within companies and organisations.

For those preparing to enter the creative industries, this means developing solid expertise while also learning to connect different perspectives, disciplines and ways of thinking.

It is within this evolving landscape that Domus Academy is expanding its undergraduate offering. From the 2027/28 academic year, the existing Bachelor’s programmes in Design and Fashion Design will be joined by two new programmes in Communication Design and Design Management. Together, the four programmes explore distinct yet interconnected fields, giving students the opportunity to shape their education around their interests and gradually define their professional direction.

At the heart of Domus Academy’s undergraduate offering is an educational approach that combines knowledge, experimentation and hands-on design practice.

  • The Bachelor’s in Design takes a transdisciplinary approach to design, spanning products, spaces, services and digital solutions. Students develop creative, technical and digital skills while exploring how design can engage with contemporary social, environmental and business challenges.
  • The Bachelor’s in Fashion Design combines creativity and craftsmanship with expertise in product development and management. The programme explores the design of clothing and accessories alongside the processes, strategies and emerging dynamics shaping today’s fashion and luxury industries.
  • From 2027/28, the new Bachelor’s in Communication Design will explore how ideas and content take shape across physical and digital media. Graphic design, storytelling, visual culture and technology become tools for creating experiences and visual languages that work across different platforms and contexts.
  • The Bachelor’s in Design Management, part of the School of Business, will bridge creative thinking and business strategy. From design thinking and management to entrepreneurship and branding, the programme will explore how design can become a strategic resource for turning ideas into value.

Each Bachelor’s programme allows students to progressively shape their studies through a range of specialisation paths.

Design offers specialisations in Interior Design & Urban Vision, Product Design & Value and UX Design, while Fashion Design includes Textile & Accessory Design, Fashion & Luxury Management and Fashion Product Development. Communication Design will introduce paths in Brand Identity, Art Direction and Visual Design, while Design Management will offer specialisations in Design Business Management, Entrepreneurship and Marketing and Communication.

Across all four Bachelor’s programmes, lectures, workshops, labs and critical thinking sessions are combined with professional learning experiences, internships, thesis workshops and final projects. This practice-based approach allows students to apply their knowledge to concrete projects, experiment with different tools and methodologies, and gradually develop their own approach to design and creative practice.

All of this takes place in Milan, within an international and multidisciplinary environment and in close connection with a city that is one of Europe’s key hubs for design, fashion and the creative industries.

With four Bachelor’s programmes and multiple opportunities for specialisation, Domus Academy’s undergraduate offering provides different ways to explore the creative disciplines, develop specialised expertise and shape an individual professional direction within an ever-evolving creative landscape.
