About the conference
Under the theme “Future Context: New Paradigms for Art and Design Education”, ICADE 2025 brought together deans, professors, researchers and industry experts from more than 30 leading international institutions.
The two-day event, held in Milan on November 15–16, featured a rich program of forums, seminars, exhibitions and student sessions. Discussions focused on how AI is reshaping creative processes, educational models and the evolving languages of art and design, opening up new directions for human–machine collaboration, interdisciplinary experimentation and cross-cultural dialogue.
AI-driven workshop experience
A highlight of the programme was a hands-on workshop where participants experimented with AI tools to explore four speculative and future-oriented design themes:
Twenty students participated overall, including nine from Domus Academy, who contributed original ideas and collaborated with peers from different international universities.
A valuable learning opportunity
The conference offered our students the chance to engage with global thinkers, explore new AI-powered creative tools, and experience firsthand how design education is transforming in response to emerging technological and cultural contexts.
