Circular Fashion: Rethinking Textile Waste and Value

Ticiana Furriela, Academic Tutor and Margherita Mazza, Course Leader of the Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and the Master of Arts in Fashion: Design, Art & Technology, will contribute their research Rethinking Textile Value: Textile Banks and Circular Business Models in Fashion. Focusing on the Brazilian initiative Banco de Tecido and its comparison with European models, their study investigates how textile banks can transform surplus fabrics into valuable resources, supporting upcycling, circular business models and more accessible fashion ecosystems.

From rethinking how designers learn to exploring how materials circulate, these contributions bring Domus Academy’s interdisciplinary approach into the conversation on sustainability, connecting education, research and new ways of creating value.
