New workshops at Domus Academy
Domus Academy students are currently involved in a series of workshops in collaboration with innovative cutting-edge companies and start-ups.
For the “Advanced Design and Processes” workshop, Master in Product Design, Interior & Living Design, Interaction Design, Business Design students are participating to The Green Factor Contest launched by Infiniti design. The goal is to design two pieces of furniture — a chair and a stool or an armchair and a table — made entirely from wood, eco sustainable and 100% recyclable. The objects should be optimized in terms of volume when disassembled, to minimize shipment bulk.

During the “Tangible Interactions” workshop, Master in Interaction Design students, in collaboration with Sfera Labs, will face the challenge to translate data collected from the connected devices into real value for people, answering the question: How could citizens be empowered by smarter cities?

The “Fashion Buying Workshop” in collaboration with The Firman — branding and fashion consultancy with over 15 years of experience, investigates the professional figure of retail Fashion Buyers. Students from the Masters in Fashion Design, Fashion Management, Fashion Styling & Visual Merchandising, Luxury Brand Management and Visual Brand Design are asked to ideate and design a temporary pop-up concept store that showcases Italian heritage and artisanal technique in the following categories: fashion, design and food.

For the “Product Strategy” workshop, students from the Master in Business Design, Product Design, Visual Brand Design, Interaction Design, Interior & Living Design collaborate with Viking Cruises, leading river cruise line, with double-digit growth in recent years. Students will work to enhance the pre-cruise and on board customer experience, envisioning the future of hospitality.
