Domus Academy hosts the World Interaction Design Day
On Tuesday, September 25th Domus Academy hosts the Italian Edition of the World Interaction Design Day, the annual initiative dedicated to advancing the craft and showing the world how interaction design improves the human condition.
This year’s theme: Diversity and inclusion in Design challenges the interaction design community to look at how language, culture, gender, age and ability are reflected in design, and how we as designers use our skills and knowledge to improve the accessibility of products, services and organizations for the community at large.
In this occasion Domus Academy is pleased to host Gillian Crampton Smith – one of the most internationally renowned personalities in the field of interface and interaction design, awarded in 2014 for her life’s work with the “Lifetime Practice Award” at the SIGCHI in Toronto – and Dario Buzzini one of the most important figures on the global scene of Interaction Design that currently manages his consulting practice BBDB collaborating with companies such as Arduino, CIID and IDEO.
Together they will guide the public through the close connections between humans and the ever-growing technologies in a world where diversity and inclusion are playing an increasingly important role and that must be among the priorities of each designer.
Their two talks will be followed by a discussion between them and other outstanding personalities in the Italian Interaction Design scene such as Erica Moreti, Principal @ EPAM Continuum and Fabio Sergio, director of EALA regional design @Fjord.
The event is organized by Andrea Pedrina, Chapter Leader for Milan and Turin of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA . Milan & Turin) and sponsored by Adobe.
