Domus Academy alumnus won the Good Design award
Congratulations to Ran Lerner, Domus Academy Alumnus of the Master in Product Design 1998, who recently won the Good Design award for his Guac-Lock Container.
The Guac-lock is an innovative air tight container designed to keep guacamole from browning, days after its made. It also:
- Secure: locks in freshness to prevent browning;
- The container can also be used as a serving bowl with a tray;
- The push-up mechanism keeps container looking full.
His work is based on the core concept of interaction of product and user, encouraging “touch” and emphasis on “Relationship” of human to object. Ran also promotes eco-friendly manufacturing by the efficient use of materials, and low energy fabricating technologies, often designing multi-functional products, affordable for the public at large.
Well done Ran!
