On May 15th Domus Academy will host Olaf Grawert, co-founder of HouseEurope!, partner at B+, founder of S+ and professor at the ETH Zurich, for a lecture followed by a multi-voice debate.
With “The Demolition Drama”, Olaf will illustrate the strategic methodology of urban regeneration, emphasising the requalification of buildings rather than demolition and reconstruction. This strategy aims to address climate change by optimising and reducing the consumption of built-up land and material resources. Throughout the speech, he will also delve into topics connected to fast fashion and disposable, Instagram-centric product design.
After the lecture, there will be a debate moderated by Federica Sofia Zambeletti, Founder of KoozArch, aimed at examining the HouseEurope! proposal, analysing its advantages and disadvantages, and gathering voices from experts representing different viewpoints on the initiative.
