Vancouver Fashion Week born in 2001, is the second largest North American fashion week after New York, bringing together both emerging and established designers, proposing runway shows open to the public. In 2017, Vancouver Fashion Week launched Global Fashion Collective (GFC) to further propel the global exposure of its most promising designers.

Devyani Mehrotra is an Indian designer, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Fashion Styling & Visual Merchandising in 2014. In 2019 she launched her eponymous label which seeks inspiration from different cultures and styles with a freewheeling nomadic attitude. The Fall-Winter 2023 collection proposed at the Vancouver Fashion Week reflects on nostalgia from her last collection “Safar-e-Misr” (Journey to Egypt). Her creations are characterised by prints with symbols, applique work, embroideries, fringes and tassels.
