The project
Body in Fabric explores the relationship between the human body and fabric through a series of sculptural visual compositions. Fully wrapped in cloth, the body is transformed into an abstract form defined by folds, tension, and volume, gradually losing its individual identity. The project investigates the dual role of fabric as both a protective and restrictive element. While concealing the body, the material simultaneously reveals its presence through pressure, movement, and weight. Through three chromatic states – white, red, and black – the work evokes distinct emotional atmospheres: calmness, tension, and silence. Positioned between fashion, sculpture, and digital experimentation, the project reflects on how materiality can reshape the perception of the body and expand the visual language of contemporary fashion design.
Packaging Première
Recognised as one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to packaging innovation and creative design, Packaging Première 2026 once again brings together international brands, designers, and creative professionals from around the world under this year’s artistic theme, Folded Realities.
Li Tao’s participation highlights the interdisciplinary and experimental approach of the Domus Academy 2-Year Master in Fashion: Design, Art & Technology, where students are encouraged to combine fashion, art, technology, and research to develop innovative design practices.
