THE COURSE

A summer course made up of 60 hours with a mix of theoretical lessons, field trips and practical workshops.

Through lectures and exercises, students will learn how to recognise different buying methods and how to define a complete buying cycle: Pre-During-After purchasing campaign. At the end of this course, students will be asked to produce a complete Buying Strategy for an assigned Brand/Retailer in the analysed scenario.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

The summer course is addressed to:

  • students in their last years of an undergraduate programme
  • postgraduate students
  • recent graduates

A general background in the areas of Fashion Management, Business/Economics, Fashion Design and Retail Management is required.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Participants will be able to:

  • examine and innovate the traditional buying cycle phases including forecasting
  • create and maintain buying budgets including open to buy
  • assess the suitability of a brand and product for a retail/wholesale format

At the end of the course participants will get a DOMUS ACADEMY CERTIFICATE and 4 ECTS* credits.

* ECTS credits will be indicated in the final transcript upon successful completion of a course, but will be transferred at the option of each student’s home university

Gaya Calabrò has an extensive background as Online Manager and e-commerce Buyer which led her to follow projects starting from managing brands’ portfolio of Fashion and Accessories categories, to prospecting new partners & support and developing online strategies and marketing campaigns.

She is specialized in European Public Relations, with a major in marketing. She began her professional career working between Paris and Milan for a well-known software house, coordinating the marketing and communication activities. Afterwards she approaches the world of fashion and luxury, working as menswear buyer at .com and retail international companies. She currently works as an E-commerce and Buying consultant for fashion and lifestyle brands in Italy, Switzerland and China.
