Exploring Systemic Design through Embodied Futures

Their research investigates how systemic design can move beyond representing and analysing complexity towards experiencing future systems from within. By bringing together systemic design, embodied futures and worldbuilding, the paper explores how possible futures can become tangible environments in which participants encounter roles, constraints, dependencies and forms of agency through participation and enactment.

The contribution opens a methodological perspective on how designers can not only represent complex systems, but create conditions to inhabit, question and reconfigure them, connecting systemic analysis with situated experience.

The presentation brings Domus Academy’s ongoing exploration of design futures and systemic approaches into the international RSD15 conversation, contributing to a broader discussion on how design can engage with complex and evolving futures.
