The Domus Academy Pre-Master’s program is a four-month intensive postgraduate course where you can boost your knowledge and skills before entering a master’s program.
Created for graduates who have a bachelor’s degree, the Pre-Master’s program will give you the essential understanding of design that you need to enter a master’s course at Domus Academy, where you can choose between 12 different programs in the areas of design, fashion, experience, and business.
It will also give you the opportunity to create a professional portfolio under the guidance of mentors who are experts in their field.
Who Should Apply
The Pre-Master’s program is addressed to those who have a bachelor’s degree in any field but no design experience, and who wish to enter a master’s course at Domus Academy.
Students learn design fundamentals and have the chance to create a professional portfolio under the guidance of industry mentors.

In just four months of intensive study, you can prepare to enter the Academic Master’s program of your choice. The Pre-Master’s is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge of the design world, hone your technical skills, and build an outstanding portfolio of projects.
Domus Academy faculty members teach according to our renowned “learning by designing” approach. Along with attending thematic lectures, you will participate in laboratory sessions, project activities, and visits to design studios.
You can focus on your own areas of interest while meeting overall course objectives.
Coursework will expand your knowledge of broad design domains and processes. You will also learn a variety of techniques and tools to better communicate and present your design concepts.
Through labs and project activities, you will learn the technical skills and organizational abilities you need for master’s-level learning. You will also improve your technical skills within each design domain.

Intensive English Language Course
Are your English skills ready for studying at the master’s level?
If not, while attending the Pre-Master’s program, you can improve your English in Domus Academy’s Intensive English course. You must have an IELTS certificate with a score of 4.0 or 4.5 (or equivalent) to qualify for the Intensive English course, which is taught in two modules of three weeks each.
You can take one or both modules, for a total of three or six weeks. Each module consists of 30 hours in class and about 70 hours online, and it can improve your English by 0.5 IELTS points. You must reach a score of IELTS 4.5 to enter an Academic Master’s program at Domus Academy. (You may take the Intensive English course at the same time as your master’s course to get your level up to 5.0.)

Applicants wishing to enroll in the Pre-Master’s program must meet the entry requirements outlined below:
- At least 15 years of previous education
- A first-level academic degree (bachelor’s degree or academic diploma)
- Certificate of English language proficiency: minimum IELTS 4.0 or equivalent
How to Apply
- Download the Pre-Master’s Application Form 2018–2019 and fill it out by hand or on your computer.
Save it, print it, and sign it.
- Gather all the documents listed in the Application Form.

- Send the materials by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Within 7 days from receipt of your submission, the Admissions Office will inform you about our decision and, in case of positive feedback, will send you the official acceptance letter.
