Compasso D’Oro | Alumni winners
Domus Academy is really proud to announce its former students Defne Koz, Marco Susani and Francisco Gomez Paz won the Compasso D’Oro, one of the most prestigious award in the design field.
The Compasso d’Oro awards have been assigned to objects whose design has guaranteed not only success but also extraordinary longevity: designed for decades, they are all still happily in production. The theme of this year edition was dedicated to development, sustainability and responsibility.
Defne Koz and Marco Susani, co-founded the studio Koz Susani Design. Both graduated at Domus Academy in the Master’s in Product Design, they began their career working at Ettore Sottssas in Milan. They won the award with their project Enel X Juicepole, a charging station for electric vehicles. The product introduces a useful and innovative example of electric recharging into the everyday life of the urban landscape.
Francisco Gomez Paz, founder of Gomez Paz Design & Crafted, won the award with his project Eutopia, a design chair made with simple and renewable natural local materials from Argentina. Graduated in the Master’s in Product Design, he is visiting professor at Domus Academy. He already won the prestigious Compasso d’Oro 2011 and he was honored with many other prizes such as the Good Design Award 2010 and the Red Dot Award 2010.
