Alum Wins First Prize in International Design Contest

Domus Academy is pleased to announce that Omar Qubain, alumnus of the Master in Urban Vision & Architectural Design program, is the first-prize winner of the Nuove Ecologie Urbane international design contest.
The contest, organized by the Italian railways group Centostazioni–Ferrovie dello Stato, in collaboration with Green Island and Museo Alessi, asked participants to create design objects related to recycling and smoking areas in the Milano Porta Garibaldi train station.
With his project Mi.Mobili, Omar combined functionality with formal and aesthetic qualities, redeveloping public areas of the Garibaldi train station in environmentally friendly ways.
