The Design department of Domus Academy arises from the awareness that today the design world needs more complex design solutions, able to integrate different disciplines and particular research perspectives, in order to properly answer to the current vision of the global and delocalized production world.
Designing, producing, promoting and marketing a product or a service in
the post-industrial society of information, requires designers with
very specific skills, able to dialogue with different players and to
handle the market following non-conventional rules.
The Master's Director will be Marco Bonetto.
In order to facilitate the participation of young designers coming from all over the world to this brand new project, Domus Academy provides some scholarships covering part of the tuition fee of the Master.
The automotive scenario is changing, as the vision of a car as an object of desire, representing a lifestyle, a concentration of performance and beauty. Today, car design has to face the challenges
represented by traffic, the changing urban scenarios all over the
world, environmental concerns in the public opinion, increasing
attention to safety of passengers and people, the effects of the global
financial crisis and the issue of fuel costs.
Domus Academy’s Master Program in Car Design is part of the design
logic of an increasing functional relation between mobility and
territory, facing the complexity of developing vehicles suited to new
needs. Automotive companies need a new generation of car designers, capable to integrate tradition with changing and diverse market requirements and new technological developments.
The Master in Car Design aims at updating and developing professional competencies of young, promising designers.
It benefits from Italian car design tradition, and it pursues an
integrated design approach, where means of transportation are built
respecting ergonomics, safety, without forgetting the environmental
impact, and taking into a very serious account aesthetics.
