Simon Bélanger

Simon Bélanger earned, with distinction, a master’s degree in fashion design at the Domus Academy of Milan. His trajectory after graduation has lead him to collaborate on various projects in Italy and back home in Montreal, Canada. The designer has join forces with his life and work partner José Manuel St-Jacques to create UNTTLD in 2011.

UNTTLD is a luxury line that reflects a sense of masculine femininity and timeless elegance, focusing on fine fabrics, the perfect fit and iconic inspirations. While looking forward, the designers inject a hefty dose of historical and cultural references throughout all their work; searching for a modernity charged with emotion. Part of UNTTLD’s mission is to support high-end fashion manufacturing in Canada, by having 100% of their production made locally.

In 2016, UNTTLD won the Mercedes-Benz Start-Up contest as well as the Star Wars fashion competition during World Master Card Fashion Week in Toronto. UNTTLD has also been honored with the Swarovski Emerging Talent prize by the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA). These prizes and industry recognitions for the designer’s excellence has been covered by the national and international press, with features in all major Canadian newspapers, cultural television shows and fashion magazines, as well as Vogue Talent in Italy. More than a media success, UNTTLD has doubled its sales every season for the past five years and secured retail doors across Canada. The designers are currently concentrating on growing the awareness of UNTTLD through different platforms including fashion shows, magazine collaborations and more artistic endeavours with the Arsenal contemporary art gallery of Montreal.

UNTTLD is on the lookout for more opportunity to export their vision to kindred spirits across the world. Domus Academy’s initiative to celebrate the success of their alumni comes at a crucial moment in the brands expansion and the designers are very proud for having been shortlisted for the award.
