FASHION AND MEDIA: ETICS AS THE NEW PROTAGONIST?
March 12that 6 p.m.
DOMUS ACADEMY
DOMUS ACADEMY is continuing its series “Time, Space, Architecture and Culture,” a sort of serial story dealing with strategic themes and perspectives, as well as the changes underway in Milanese life. The series strives to reflect on social and architectural transformations of urban contexts.
The next stop in this series is entitled “Fashion and Media: Ethics as the new protagonist?” and will be held on March 12th at 6 p.m. at DOMUS ACADEMY.
The event will include presentations by:
Paola Acquati of Nonsolomoda
Antonio Machinelli (journalist)
Carlo Rivetti of CP Company.
Barbara Trebitsch will join them in discussing the issues raised.
The theme that has been chosen deals closely with the “state of health” of the fashion world and the world of communication, two extremely important and valuable realities for Milanese life, to which many of the city’s citizens feel intimately connected. More often than not, both suffer from a “superficialization” of their contents in favor of the easy divulgation of their less “complex” aspects. DOMUS ACADEMY intends to address these themes, stimulating reflection inside the city in light of relatively recent debates between Ethics and Aesthetics, and the relationship between design and ethical content. What are the restrictions and how should we interact with them? Furthermore, how should we interpret these phenomena?
The encounter organized by DOMUS ACADEMY wants to go beyond the limits of the current media debate, entrusting reflection and consideration to a meeting between professionals from the worlds of communication and journalism, critics of contemporary phenomena and one of the most interesting companies from the point of view of both Italy and the world. The aim is to understand and identify the limits of a relationship (that between fashion and the media) that is experiencing the urgent need to reformulate and regenerate itself, especially when considering a Milanese context desirous of a new attitude and vision.
