TEACHING DESIGN IN THE GLOBAL WORLD?
January 11 2007, 10.00 a.m.
TO OPEN DOMUS ACADEMY’S 25th YEAR OF ACTIVITY
DOMUS ACADEMY
Over recent years there has been an increasing amount of space dedicated to design and creatività as the basis for company innovation.
Design is becoming a winning instrument for inspiring in a tangible manner within global offerings the visions that derive from company culture: in many situations people speak of design-driven innovation, and design-driven companies.
Can design be the means through which people create a new culture for international management? In what ways can design contribute to innovation and/or the creation of new business strategies? Does a local cultural approach to teaching design (the “Italian” approach, the “British” approach, and so on and so forth…) still exist, or have global standards taken over? What should be the relationship for new designers between ability to design strategic scenarios and design new products?
