Light Above All
May, 23th 2007
6.00 p.m.
Rotonda della Besana, Milan
A round table organized by Domus Academy with Milan Municipality and Rotonda della Besana.
The evaluation and consideration of light and its infinite gradations
must constitute the central axis for disciplines that engage projects
of the future.
The ability to comprehend what people want from light, and to offer
solutions in which beauty and usefulness join to provide unique
performance, is precisely what has made Italian lighting design a
protagonist on a global scale and continues to maintain it as such.
The development of original, leading technologies, the comparisons and
contrasts with the best designers of yesterday and today, Made in Italy
values developed with mastery, light custom-created for mankind: these
are the roots of Italian talent. A talent that responds in a timely and
flexible fashion to the widest range of needs, adapting to the changing
demands of many different peoples in countries all over the planet,
contributing light to improve quality of life for countless
individuals.
The round table promoted by Domus Academy is designed as an opportunity
to reflect and consider light. It is a chance to discuss the talents of
Italian creativity, a widespread value that has its roots in history
itself.
