Workshop in collaboration with National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci
Domus Academy students have collaborated with National Museum of Science and Technology “Leonardo da Vinci” for a four-week workshop titled “Identities & paths”.
The workshop “Identity Design” challenged the Master in Visual Brand Design students to develop two complementary projects: a concept for the museum shop and a communication strategy involving the spaces surrounding the museum, such as the new metro station construction site.
For the project “inside the museum: the shop”, students of the Masters in Product Design, Interior & Living Design, Business Design, Interaction Design and Luxury Brand Management proposed several ideas for the museum shop. The shop was designed as part of the visitor experience, starting from an in-depth analysis of the brand identity, history and museum themes.
Master in Interior & Living Design students worked on the “outside the museum” brief, developing a communication strategy to engage visitors by guiding them to the museum from the metro stop. They found interesting solutions, in line with the characteristics and identity of the Sant’Ambrogio/San Vittore district, where the museum is located.
During the workshop, students had the unique opportunity to meet James Bradbourne – Director of Pinacoteca di Brera, who gave a lecture on the importance of the museum experience.
The workshop will end with a final presentation on Tuesday, 9th of May.
