The Master’s in Business Design is workshop-based, supported by seminars, lectures, tutorials, and fieldwork. Industry professionals, the programme leader, and project leaders will guide you via individual coaching and mentorship.
The combination of accredited coursework and real-life professional projects gives students the opportunity to build on their academic foundation, while gaining valuable work experience directly applicable to their future careers.
Students can apply to the Academic Master’s Programme, accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education, or to the Master of Arts degree with an international UK validation.
Graduates of the Academic Master’s Programmes earn a degree that is recognised throughout Europe and the world, receiving an Academic Master’s Degree (60 ECTS credits) accredited by the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR)*, in addition to a Domus Academy Master’s Diploma.
The programme consists of 5 modules, including a curricular internship and a final project workshop.
* The academic Master’s Degree is awarded by NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti.
The Dual Award Master path allows students to obtain an Academic Master validated by the Italian MUR and a Master of Arts, with international validation in the UK from Regent’s University in London.
Students integrate additional lectures and a more in-depth individual project to their 5-module programme that includes the curricular internship and final project.
The UK validation gives students more international recognition of their course of study and the opportunity to obtain a Master of Arts Degree (90 ECTS) awarded by Regent’s University London that allows them access to most international doctoral programs.
The Master in Business Design creates new connections between the worlds of business and design.
Students will work on projects related to the business of design and the design of business. Enlightening and interdisciplinary, the programme focuses on how to apply design culture, methodology and sensitivity to a wide range of businesses, including established enterprises, large, medium and small-sized companies and start-ups.
Students will learn about design-driven management strategies as they learn to draft plans for business development, branding, marketing and communication for the whole company as well as for specific product lines and new ventures.
The programme is addressed to candidates who have a first-level degree and/or professional experience in economics, management, humanities, or design.
The programme is also open to candidates with a background in other disciplines, if they are motivated by strong interest in the program’s topics.
All courses are taught in English. A high level of proficiency in the English language is required.
Graduates of this programme can work as self-employed consultants or entrepreneurs, or pursue managerial careers in cross-functional roles in design-driven companies, branding or communication agencies, consulting firms, service companies, research and development firms or start-ups.

Designer and strategist with a diverse background spanning teaching, academic research, and agency projects. Passionate about the design process, she excels in problem-solving, problem-setting, and creating compelling visuals.
As a transdisciplinary designer, she leverages tools from communication, service, to business design. She enjoys building bridges between disciplines and interpreting various design languages.
In 2013, she received a Ph.D. cum Laude from the School of Design at Politecnico di Milano. During her Ph.D., she worked at the MobileLife Research Centre (Stockholm University) on service and interaction design devices, and at the metaLABab at Harvard University in the field of digital humanities.
For over eight years, she collaborated with the master’s degree course in Communication Design at Politecnico di Milano, specializing in designing transmedia systems and experiences to engage users and enhance cultural heritage. She works at Domus Academy as Course Leader since 2016 in the branding and business areas. She also curates and organizes talks and studio events with designers and artists.
