How to apply

Domus Academy is a selective school that limits the number of entering students in order to provide living and study conditions that best enable all students to complete their degrees.

We have a dedicated team of Educational Advisors who will be happy to help you with your application. If you have any questions, please contact us.

When considering candidates for admission, our Faculty and Admission Commitee look at the entire profile of the applicant, including academic records, work experience if any, extracurricular activities, test scores and recommendations.

Prepare supporting documents

  • Curriculum vitae/resume
    The résumé is a primary information source that requires a careful and exhaustive drawing up. Please find below a list of information to be included in the CV:
    Personal information
    – First and last name, address, nationality, date and place of birth;
    – Education – title, school/institute, graduation, final mark;
    – Work experience – position, name of the Company, sector of activity, employment period;
    – IT skills (including a list of the known software programs);
    – Languages (specifying the level of written and spoken skills).
  • Artistic and professional portfolio of projects
    Together with the résumé, a portfolio of works and projects must be attached to testify the training and professional path in the related field. It should include projects, sketches and finished works developed by the candidate; it should express his/her personal and creative contribution, as well as his/her character, personal taste and expressive skills, combined with technical expertise. The portfolio may be submitted in both digital and paper format. Please note that portfolio of projects is not mandatory for the Master in Business Design, Master in Fashion Management and Master Luxury Brand Management.
  • Academic transcript of previous studies, translated into English, listing subjects and exams, with corresponding number of hours/credits and short description of each subject’s program
  • Motivation letter
    In the motivation letter you need to:
    – Explain your motivation for applying to the programme (Why are you interested in the programme? What are your plans for the future and how would this study programme help you achieve your goals?);
    – Explain how your educational and professional background relates to the programme you are applying to (What makes you a good candidate for this programme? What have you accomplished in the past? What knowledge, skills, and experiences do you have that are relevant to this programme?)
  • Copy of Bachelor Degree/Academic diploma translated into English
  • Documentation regarding further courses or seminars attended (if available)
  • English language certificate
  • Copy of passport
  • Payment receipt of € 100 application fee

Upon receipt of the required documents, the Admissions Office will proceed according to the necessary administrative steps. The evaluation commission is lead by each Course Leader and will evaluate whether the degree corresponds to requirements and will identify possible educational credits or debts upon assessing the candidate’s application.

Within 7 days from the application submission, Domus Academy Admissions Office will inform the candidates about the acceptance and, in case of positive feedback, will send the Admission Package to the students.

 

Enrollment

If you are willing to receive the Academic Master Degree recognized by the Ministry of Italian Education (MIUR), you need to be enrolled in NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano, that will award the Master program with the above title.

When admission will be confirmed, you will be required to secure your place by returning the Enrollment Form and the receipt of payment of the pre-enrollment fee ( (€ 3.000) within 30 days from the Admission Letter’s date.

Upon receiving the enrollment form filled in and signed and the pre-enrollment fee payment, Domus Academy will provide you with all necessary assistance in order to apply for the student visa.

Please notice that all bank, credit card and third party charges have to be covered by applicant and that the application fee is not refundable for any reason.

Matriculation

To finalize the matriculation you will be asked to:

  • Submit Declaration of Value of the Bachelor Degree and legalized translation of your Bachelor Degree and Academic transcripts.
    The Declaration of Value is an information document describing the qualification awarded to a given person by an institution belonging to an education system other than the Italian system. It is used by the competent University offices to assess the qualification for the purposes of admission to a degree programme or for the recognition of the foreign qualification.
    You need to ask the Declaration of Value at the Italian Embassy located in the country whose educational system the degree refers to. There, you will get the legalized translation of your Bachelor Degree and Academic transcripts and  the Declaration of Value of your Bachelor Degree.
  • Get the Study Visa (non EU passport holders only)
    After having paid the pre-enrollment fee (€ 3.000) and returned the Enrollment form filled in and signed to the Admissions Office, you will recceive the official stamped enrollment certificate by express courrier. This certificate has to be taken to the Italian Embassy located in the place you live to apply for the study visa.
    Please note that the visa application process timing can vary from country to country, so we advise that you begin the process as soon as you receive the enrollment certificate from our Admission Office.
  • Request the Permit of Stay (non EU passport holders only)
    The application for a Permit of Stay (Permesso di Soggiorno) is to be requested through the Italian Post Office within 8 days from the arrival in Italy. Domus Academy Students Service Office will help you fill in the files and collect all requested documents
  • Pay the balance of the Tuition Fee by the starting date of the course
