Domus Academy presents: Prototyping ideas – Waste
This year’s Design talks promoted by Domus Academy are coming to an end. On March 12th, 2018 don’t miss the chance to envision the future of Design with the last Prototyping Ideas talk ‘Waste’.
It is time for a radical rethink of the notion of waste. In the past, what was wasted was lost. And much was wasted when resources seemed infinitely abundant. So much was wasted that whole ecosystems lost their equilibrium as waste piled up. Solid, liquid, composite waste trashed whole landscapes before anything could be done to avoid it. Seen from the standpoint of the present, it is hard to believe that only a few brave visionaries warned about the consequences. Our whole planet is now out of joint because of waste. Designers can do much to help alleviate this problem, they can tweak it, one good design at a time.
Panel moderated by Alice Rawsthorn with internationally recognized designers including:
Paola Antonelli – Senior Curator at the Museum of Modern Art in New York
Studio Formafantasma (Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin).
